Apr. 17, 2000 - Status Report

The New UO:Renaissance shall be implemented on the Sonoma Shard on Wednesday of this week. This new land shall be a mirror of the current Sosaria, with a slightly modified look. The main purpose of this new land is to open space for new buildings. While it is intended for this, in actuallity Sosaria was designed for looks and not for housing. As a result, the house spacing will still be limited (esp. with the new housing rules). A much more effective approach would have been to open the New Lands to housing. This land was designed specifically for housing, but the developers decided to keep these lands "house-free." Some updates to the site: I have added the April Calendar and I have updated the Sonoma Event Planner.

Mar. 4, 2000 - News

I have updated the UO newspaper with a new article "Juo'nar Takes Trinsic." Enjoy! I have also begun work on another section for UO Sonoma. This section will be a complete summary of the history of the Sonoma shard. As you can imagine, this section will probably take awhile to complete. I intend on setting it up in a chronological order and include subsections so that it will be easier to navigate and can be completed in sections.

Mar. 2, 2000 - Hear Ye! Hear Ye! An Important Announcement.

There comes a time when a person must sacrifice his/her own personal goals for the good of the whole. In such a grave moment as today, I am forced to do just this. We have upon us a situation of tremendous enormity -- a time where chaos reigns supreme and the word "death" is commonplace. Our lands are in grave danger now, Lord British has been captured, and Britain is on the brink of martial law. Vile creatures walk our once peaceful streets, and the slaughter of the innocent is allowed to happen. But I say no more! No more must we fear these beast! No more shall we allow them to encroach on our towns, kill our families, and raze our homes! No more shall we fall victim to this Dark Mistress and her evil minions! And so today I come before you all, to make an important announcement. I stand before you to announce that I shall perform Lord British's duties in his absence. His monumental task of keeping this realm in order is a time consuming one. Yet I believe that I can complete all that this job entails and then some. Not only must I simply perform the duties, I must also listen to you all. Therefore, regular audiences shall be arranged so that I may meet with you all and hear your concerns. Also, I shall begin numerous programs to attempt to assist the Trinsic Liberation Army and others of its type. In addition, I shall assure that relief arrives to those towns most in need of it. Finally, I shall contact the leaders of this realm and urge them to assist in this cause. Together, a free Sosaria can be formed and our common enemy can be vanquished. One of my top priorities is and will continue to be to find and rescue Lord British. Even though Shamino and Sir Geoffrey are already leading an investigation, we must also assist in this task. We shall leave no cave uncombed. We shall follow every lead and use every resource available in the search. Some may be skeptical of my motives, but I assure you that my motives are to help Sosaria and to restore peace to this land. Thousands have been ousted from their hometown of Trinsic, and thousands more cower in their homes in fear of the monsters in the streets. So many have suffered from these attacks, and if the tide is not turned many more will. It does not make sense for me to have ulterior motives, for the only way we all benefit is if peace can be restored. I hope that we can lay aside our differences and work towards the common goal. As the hours pass, the armies of evil amass. I have come forward in hopes that I can help to bring an end to the bloodshed and violence and I ask you to allow me to fill that role. Feb. 17, 2000 - Announcing UO Sonoma

I have added a new section to the navbar called UO Sonoma. This section will include information specifically for people on the Sonoma Shard. Our first page is a tool to help those who have events planned. The service will keep track of when player-run events will take place on the shard and keep a schedule of the times. This will hopefully help prevent events from overlapping. This service is the Sonoma Events Calendar. Coming soon will be a guide to the roleplaying community on sonoma as well as other exciting pages!

I have completed the reagents page. It has pictures and descriptions of all the reagents, even the unused Pagan reagents! Also, I have added a link to the links page. It is to a sonoma quest news site.

Feb. 14, 2000 - General Info

As many of you know, the town of Trinsic is no longer a safe place to travel. Only the most seasoned adventurer should attempt to enter the city. In the city of Yew, Keeneon has been rampaging about with his droves of orcs and mongbats. The warriors seem to have that situation well under control. In related news, Emperor Krosis has begun work on a secret plan that could put an end to the reign of the mysterious "Dark Mistress," leader of these recent attacks. There is still no word from the Ophidians regarding our offer of peace. It has been three days now and it appears that their attacks continue on the town of Papau. It is coming up on the one year anniversay of TKI's claim to land in the Second Age. By the time that this one year date comes around, TKI hope to have an outpost set up in this territory. More information about this claim can be found here. Finally, I hope to have the reagent information pages up within the next few days. Also, I intend on update all the pages over the next few weeks to insure that data is accurate. Ideas for future expansion are: a guide on Sonoma's roleplaying community, information on the upcoming UO Renaissance, and a player-run event time schedule for the Sonoma UO shard.

Jan. 1, 2000 - Annual Address from Emperor Krosis

Second Annual Address on the Status of the Krosis Imperium: Hail Citizens of Sosaria: It has been two years since I first arrived to this unique continent, two entire years full of adventurer and excitement the likes of which pale only in comparison to the most grand of events. In those two years I have made many friends and at the same time seen many of those friends leave. Perhaps they left in search of adventure or riches, or perhaps to their own quiet retirement. Through all this the Krosis Imperium has suffered. Our numbers have dwindled, mostly by my own fault. Not only is this a disgrace to me, it is a disgrace to everything the Krosis Imperium stands for. And so I shall vow, here today, that there shall be a rebirth, a renaissance of the Krosis Imperium. The framework is in place and with the help of you, the Britannian citizen, the Krosis Imperium shall flourish. How will this be accomplished? I wish that I could say that it would be simple, however, it will not. It will be the most difficult journey that the Imperium has ever taken. As is the case when building a dwelling, the most important aspect is the foundation. The Imperium must build such a foundation and that foundation is made up of you the people. The foundation will allow the supports of the building to set firmly in place, just like the members of the Krosis Imperium will make it possible for the brass ring to be grasped, for our goals to be achieved. The foundation is difficult to build for many times people are reluctant to join until they know that the house will not crumble and their fears are well placed. Many times even the most powerful groups have faltered and, within a month, crumbled to ruins. This is why I must ask for a leap of faith, but not blind faith. Our past events speak well for the Imperium and the fact that we have existed in this land for the past two years displays our perseverance. Next in the structure comes the walls, the basis of the house, the protection from the elements. The walls secure the house and the Krosis Imperium must do the same. We must assure our place in Britannia, we must gain the support of others, we must make friends and pacify enemies. Only then will we be able to achieve our goal. Finally the roof is built, the pinnacle of the dwelling. The roof completes the structure, the Krosis Imperium will build its roof by realizing the creation of an outpost in the new lands, by restoring the extensive library of knowledge from the original Krosis Imperium, by devoting resources to the arts and sciences in Britannia, and by helping our fellow citizens to achieve harmony and a higher level of living. This journey is a long and arduous one. The perils are many. There are those people who will resist change, there are those who stand on the other side of the law, and there are those who's loyalties lie elsewhere. We must meet these people with open arms. We must have compassion for others and we must accept their beliefs. Only unified will we be able to work effectively together. This is the future of Britannia. This past year has been filled with many events. The most notable of these events was the appearance of the Archmage Balart. He wreaked havoc on the land and caused many to suffer. He killed countless innocent individuals and was the nemesis of many of our land's heroes. It was only with an effort of many, include members of the Krosis Imperium that Balart was stopped. In particular, Sage Arthur realized that Balart was planning to poison the water supply of Trinsic. He brought this to the attention of Ceridwen the Historian and possibly save hundreds of lives. Another event in which the Krosis Imperium took a prime part in was the Sonoma Wargames. These events were used to hone the skills of our members while providing enjoyment. Much credit should be given to the citizens named Necrolyte and Dor for setting up these events. Sage Arthur has been very active in his research over the past year. His crowning achievement was when he published his Theories on the Ethereal Void. This document will be an essential tool in understanding and using the ether. Unfortunately Sage Arthur has taken ill recently. I would like to take a moment to wish him a speedy recovery and the best of luck in his newest project, the Court of Sonoma. The Krosis Imperium has been involved in a wide variety of activities over the past year and this upcoming year looks like it will be even more exciting. With the help of the Britannian citizens the dreams of the Krosis Imperium will be realized and the benefits to the people of Sosaria will be enormous. We will build our ranks, sponsor projects across the land, take part in numerous events and contests, and take an active role in the community, our community. This is what we have to look forward to in the month to come. The hourglass has been set in motion, the new year has begun. Best wishes to all, Emperor Krosis XXXII
